RESEARCH AND PLANNING:
I started researching other magazines to see how they produce there magazines and to see what was already out there. I found that many rock based magazines were mainly coloured black and white with only a hint of red. I found that very stereotypical and went against the colours and did something that is appealing to both genders for my audience. I used the colours orange, black, red and white. These colours give beat and rhythm to my magazine just my adding a few colours. I planned my magazine by doing a flat plan of both the preliminary task and my music magazine this helped me as it gave to a rough idea of what i wanted to include on/in my magazine. I researched magazines such as Kerrang and NME as they are both rock based magazine and got an idea of what i wanted to include in my magazine. I also researched other magazines such as Black Beat to see what they advertise inside their magazine. I found out that the most common adverts used in magazines are beauty products which are mainly aimed at girls. This would make girls think they need to use these products in order to look good. But this is not the case. I didn't use any advertisement as i thought any advert only refers to one gender.
